POWER IN PRAISE PSALM 5:11-12: But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; Let those also who love Your name be joyful in You. 12 For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield.” OBSERVATION: There is power in praise! The Word calls us to come before The Lord with singing, to come before The Lord with praise. Psalm 22:3 tells us that The Lord is enthroned upon the praises of Israel. He rules and reigns in - and over the heart that is filled with praise. In Romans Paul tells us that Abraham grew strong in faith as he gave glory to God - as he lived a life of praise! David writes in these verses - ...let all those rejoice who put their trust in You, let them ever shout for joy because You defend them. As we grow in praise we grow in faith, we overflow with joy, and we walk in the assurance of His protection and care for our life. Praise brings us joyfully into the throne-room of His presence. It brings us to the place of Grace and Mercy. It surrounds us with the favor of God like a shield - With favor You will surround him as with a shield. Praise is not a work. Praise is the natural overflow and expression of a heart filled with love. We love, therefore we praise! The old chorus refrain says it best - I keep falling in love with Him, over and over, and over and over again...He gets sweeter and sweeter as the days go by, oh what a love between my Lord and I...I keep falling in love with Him over and over, and over and over again! This morning dear Lord, help me to fall in love with You anew. May I come before You with a heart of thanksgiving, with a heart filled with praise. May I grow in faith, in joy, in assurance, and in Your favor as I offer my freewill sacrifice of praise! You truly are worthy to be praised! In Jesus Name!
