***PRESS RELEASE*** TERRORISTIC THREATENING - On 10/24/2014 at approximately 0949 a.m. the Leitchfield Police Department was notified of a domestic situation in which a subject had made threats to harm his estranged spouse and children. Upon receiving the information, the Grayson County School system was notified and Leitchfield Police Department officers responded to H. W. Wilkey Elementary as a precautionary measure due to the fact that the children attended that school and the spouse is currently employed by the system. The school was initially placed in a lock-down situation until it was determined that no immediate threat existed. It was later downgraded to a lock-out situation in which all incoming and exiting visitors were screened by law enforcement. The Grayson County Middle School was also placed in a lock-out situation. The subject was located at his residence in Edmonson County and arrested by the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office without incident. Jeremiah Durbin was charged with Terroristic Threatening 2nd Degree, and Terroristic Threatening 3rd Degree (3 Counts). The Leitchfield Police Department would like to stress the fact that the schools were notified and actions taken as a precautionary measure. There was at no time a threat to any students or faculty.
