PRESS RELEASE: The Herkimer Police Department has arrested Christopher Allen, 27 years of age from Newport, NY. Allen has been charged with 3 counts of Grand Larceny 4th degree, a class E Felony and 1 count of Petit Larceny. An investigation began last week after Herkimer Walmart filed a complaint of several incidents where electronics were stolen. Herkimer Police then conducted surveillance based on the information provided. Allen was arrested at Walmart today at 7:30 AM while actively shoplifting. Allen was arraigned in Herkimer Court and sent to HCCF without bail. The Herkimer Police Department is looking for an accomplice to the earlier thefts.
