PRESS RELEASE Dated: 29/12/2012 • A INTER STATE GANG OF AUTO LIFTER BUSTED BY SOS/CRIME BRANCH, DELHI POLICE, • TWO MOST DESPERATE AUTO LIFTER WERE ARRESTED, • SIX LUXURY CARS RECOVERED, • THE GANG USED TO PURCHASE TOTAL LOSS INSURED VEHICLE AND SOLD STOLEN VEHICLE AFTERTEMPERING THEIR ENGINE /CHASIS NUMBER AGAINST THE TOTAL LOSS VEHICLE. __________________________________________________ Acting on a secret information received by HC Deepak Tyagi, 1470/Crime, two members of a interstate auto lifter gang, namely Kamran@ Sonu and Suleman@ Rihan were arrested by SOS/Crime Branch from Anand Viahr Bus Terminal, Delhi. A team of Special Operation Squad, Crime Branch led by Inspr. Suhaib Ahmad consisting of ASI Madan Singh, HC Deepak Tyagi, HC Vijay Tyagi, HC Syambir, Ct Bhoop and Ct Pankaj under the supervision of ACP/SOS Sh. Aman rathi arrested two persons, who came to sell one stolen Indica car no. DL 1TAK 1043 at Anand Vihar Bus Terminal, Delhi. The said Indica NO. DL 1TAK 1043 was found stolen vide Case FIR No. 360/12 U/S 379 IPC PS- Shahdra, Delhi. Operation: On 23/12/12 a secret information was received through Head Constable Deepak Tyagi, 1470/Cr. of SOS Crime Branch that one auto lifter namely Suleman @ Sonu, already involved in many cases of Auto theft would come to sell a stolen Indica Car NO. DL 1TAK 1043 at Anand vihar Bus terminal, Delhi and if a raid is conducted, many stolen vehicles may be recovered and his other associates may also be apprehended. On this a trap was laid near ISBT, Anad Vihar, At the instance of informer, he was apprehended with Indica Car NO. DL 1TAK 1043 found to be stolen vide Case FIR No. 360/12 U/S 379 IPC PS- Shahdra, Delhi On interrogation of accused Kamran @ Sonu, it was revealed that he came to sell this vehicle to one Sagir. He has further disclosed that he also can get his associates arrested and can get other stolen vehicles recovered from various parking places of Delhi. On this accused was arrested in the above said case and taken on 5 days P/C remand. During this remand, his other associate namely Suleman@Rihan was also arrested from ISBT Saria Kale Khan on 27/12/12 and 5 more stolen vehicles were also recovered from various parking in Delhi. Recovery During investigation, following vehicles were recovered at the instance of accused persons:- 1. One Indica Car NO. DL 1TAK 1043,. 2. One Santro Car NO. DL4CND 4932, 3. One Tavera No. RJ 14 TB 1833, 4. One Indica Car without number plate, 5. One Santro Car without number plate, 6. One I-20 Car without number plate. Work Out Cases 1. FIR No. 360/12 U/S 379 IPC PS- Shahdra, Delhi regarding Indica NO. DL 1TAK 1043. 2. FIR No. 362/11 U/S 379 IPC PS-Vikash Puri , Delhi regarding Santro Car No. DL4CND 4932 3. FIR No. 332/12 U/S 379 IPC PS-Uttam Nagar , Delhi regarding Tevera No. RJ 14 TB 1833. Others vehicles are yet to be linked as their engine /Chassis number found tempered. Profile of accused: Kamran@ Sonu S/o Imran r/o Khalapaar Muzaffarnagar, UP age- 23 years studied upto 9th class in UP. His father is running an electric shop in Muzaffarnagar. After study he came at his maternal uncle’s home in Sotiganj, Meerut, where he started to help his maternal uncle in the scrap business, who used to buy totally damaged cars and further sold the same in parts. Here the accused Kamran came in touch with one Nawab r/o Modinagar, UP and Sagir r/o Sambhal, UP, both of them were auto lifters. With an intention to earn easy money the accused also started to purchase stolen vehicles from Nawab and Sagir. After tampering with engine & Chassis numbers of stolen vehilces, he further sold these Cars in open market as genuine. Suleman@ Rihan S/o Md. Usman r/o Asalatpura, Badi Masjid gali no.2, Muradabad, UP age- 45 Years is a resident of Muradabad UP and runs his car accessory business. Here he came in contact with one, the arrested accused Kamran. Kamran lured him and told that he and his other associates are dealing in stolen vehicles and they would pay Rs. 10000/- per vehicle for tampering with engine & Chassis number of stolen vehicles as per the document of the totally damaged vehicles.
