PRESS RELEASE – 12-10-14 PNF SALUTES PREZ MAHAMA FOR SWIFT ACTION ON PETITION FOR REMOVAL OF CHRAJ BOSS Ms. Lauretta Vivian Lamptey We, on 01-10-14, submitted a five-page petition of nine-point claims of grave misconduct, inappropriate exercise of office, serious misjudgement, breaches of laws and public trust. We are grateful to the President for acting swiftly on the petition but would also like to remind him of our earlier appeal to him to consider exercising his Article 146 (10)(b) constitutional powers to suspend the Respondent upon a prima facie determination being made by Her Ladyship the Chief Justice for investigations to commence into the matter. This is because we share in the groundswell of informed public opinion that, given the serious nature of the alleged acts of misconduct, the Respondent’s continuous stay in office will gravely affect the reputation and smooth operation of CHRAJ in the discharge of its core functions of championing Human Rights and Administrative Justice To properly further ground our case, we attached various relevant documents including copies of tenancy agreements. We believe we have been properly assisted by our Lawyers led by SAMSON LARDY ANYENINI, ESQ to make a formidable case and the CJ won’t have much difficulty making a prima facie determination that there is a case to be investigated. We are confident what we have presented will assist achieve the desired outcome to preserve the reputation of the CHRAJ in the discharge of its core functions of championing Human Rights and Administrative Justice. Let democracy, good governance and justice flourish in Ghana. Long live Ghana. Long live rule of law. Yours faithfully Richard Nyamah
