PRINCES MASTER DEAL: By Francis. 7 Sentence Synopsis - More than 2 decades after Prince scrawled Slave across his face to protest his Record Label, The Artist has reconciled with Warner Bros. Records as part of a truce that will give him control of his Master Recordings! This is an issue I have followed very closely as I have been a Prince Fam all my life, and with the 35th Anniversary of his brilliant debut album For You, his Copyrights to that Recording expire under the law with which it was conceived, and Prince regains his Copyrights as a term of this unprecedented deal. A brand new studio album is on the way and both Warner Bros. and eye (sic) are quite pleased with the results of the negotiations and look forward to a fruitful working relationship!, Prince said in a statement that used his unconventional spelling for the pronoun. One of the reasons that this affects me very much in my field is that having just released my first album as a Professional Musician myself, I elected to retain my Copyrights, Publishing and Masters to ensure the safety of my Royalties in the future should my Music Career ever take off, and I have Prince to thank for that! While both sides portrayed it as a win-win situation, the landmark deal to end their long-running dispute over who owns the Copyrights to his Original Recordings could inspire other Artists to claw back ownership of their catalogs. Therefore, I am very proud to complete this Synopsis because what Prince has done here for me and all other Artists is a huge stepping stone, and has shown me exactly how much I have learned in all my years of Being a Prince Fam: Big Ups 2 Prince.
