PRODUCTION MANAGER – WADEVILLE More than 5 years working experience in a production environment, a completed production degree or diploma and a stable work record is essential. You will be responsible for the effective and efficient management and optimum utilization of all manufacturing resources, adopting a lean manufacturing style and synchronizing manufacturing process to achieve this objective. Effectively manage the operational function in order to achieve performance objectives. Responsible for the long and short term facility planning, this includes strategies, recommendations and actions with regard, but not limited to: Complete captaincy of ISO and all Health and Safety. Skills needs analysis and survey periodically performed according to the organizational needs Training needs analysis of all requirements identified as well as motivational leadership Structure and hierarchy to enable all possible skills to perform to their full potential. Operating shift systems, which allow for maximum benefit of the machine utilization Manpower needs analysis versus operating hours Nurturing good industrial relationships to the benefit of all employees Continuous improvement of all working relationships on all levels to create an atmosphere of harmony and Co-operation Give feedback on performance of production personnel reporting to you Apply fair and appropriate disciplinary procedures as per company polices Encourage participation of your subordinates in problem solving Manage manpower requirements adequately and as necessary to achieve company production targets Machine: Scheduling of capacities to optimum machine performance Optimize maintenance and repair schedules Ensuring that company assets are well cared for Ensuring that all equipment is operational and safe for use Methods: Ensuring all methods are documented and adhered to accordingly Ensuring that processes which are not safe do not continue Continuous evaluation and improvements on all process aspects Maintain and improve on health, safety and loss control standards Materials: Control to ensure minimum work in progress according to the principles of lead time reduction methods Maintain minimum levels of raw material and finished goods inventory according to customer requirements, operational efficiency and sound financial judgment Ensure that sound purchasing principles are implemented and adhere to Measurements: Ensure that all process performance are measured and recorded Ensure that proactive actions are taken where process statistics warrant intervention Ensure that quality controls and (ISO) are operative and adhered to in all aspects Reporting on all aspects of the facilities performance as per Reporting requirements Responsible for Capacity planning of all plant and machinery to achieve customer requirements. Participation in the long term forecast and business plan in conjunction with other senior management of the company and shareholders Adherence and full comprehension of all aspects of the law which govern this business Accept any additional responsibilities and accountabilities as delegated from time to time by the CEO Implement and maintain good housekeeping practices as well as safety procedures as per legal requirements RELATIONSHIPS: The Plant Manager will observe and conduct following relationships AND MAY NOT DELEGATE his responsibilities and accountabilities for his proper conduct. MANUFACTURING DIRECTOR/SHAREHOLDER The incumbent will be responsible and accountable to the CEO for the fulfilment of this function. PEERS Liaise with other Senior Managers and heads of the departments when necessary for the achievement of the company key objectives for the benefit of the company STAFF Maintain orderly, motivated relationships and remain informed of all internal developments Ensure that the disciplinary rules and regulations are followed in a manner of consistency and fairness as per company rules and regulations
