PROGRAMS & SERVICES SPOTLIGHT - Pet microchipping and registration are available at a nominal fee at the Shelter. A microchip may be the most important gift you ever can give your pet. May is “Chip Your Pet Month” and the Siouxland Humane Society has joined the national campaign to promote responsible pet ownership in encouraging permanent identification. The microchip is a good way to ensure your pet is returned if it gets lost. Pets found or turned into Shelters and Veterinarians can be scanned and the owner can be contacted within a few minutes therefore reducing the time the pet is lost. It is important to keep your information up to date so remember to make changes if your address or telephone number has changed. During May the Shelter will do both the microchipping and enrollment for only $20.00 per pet which is a great deal!
