PROV’L GOVT INKS TIE-UP WITH SSS FOR PROTECTION OF JOB ORDER AND CONTRACTUAL EMPLOYEES Lingayen- - -Some 1,750 job order employees of the Pangasinan provincial government will benefit from the upcoming implementation of the e-AlkanSSSya program, a tie-up project of the present administration with the Social Security System (SSS). In the regular session of the provincial board held December 1, Provincial Resolution No. 947-2014, which authorizes Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. to ink partnership with SSS, was unanimously approved. The e-AlkanSSSya program is a micro-savings program of the SSS which aims to provide social security protection for informal sector workers to include job order and contractual workers in state-run institutions. Human Resource Management and Development Officer (HRMDO) Janette C. Asis said that the project is ‘not mandatory’ but will remain as the ‘choice’ of employees whether to avail of the program or not. Asis said that the present administration’s thrust for the total development of all its employees include provision of social security protection. The HRMO disclosed that it has been included in the Annual Investment Plan (AIP) 2015 that a 50% share of employees’ contribution will be shouldered by the provincial government while the remaining half shall be the responsibility of the employee if he or she wishes to avail of the program. Jose Alvin M. Altre, Branch Manager of SSS Alaminos City branch, said that the program, which will be collected through mandatory salary deduction scheme, will be beneficial to job order and contractual workers of the province who are not included in the mandatory coverage of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS). It can be recalled that the administration of Gov. Espino has instituted innovative and bold reforms in terms of employee development to include salary hikes, transformational scheme such as-- seminars, workshops, capability team-building, health and wellness as well as the upcoming livelihood program for rank and file workers and their families. /RRB
