PUBLIC NOTICE-WARNINGMATATU PICKPOCKETINGfor those people who missed the footage onmatatu pickpockets on citizen tv, let me take you through the story again tondu kwiragwo muugi ni mutare. there is this gang of 5 dudes who are spending their days harvesting from where they never planted and if you dont take caution, you might fall victim of their ill motives. they dress in different styles to prevent suspicion from the public. one of them is in official and has a big brown envelop, two ofthem are in jeans and carrying small emptybags, another one is in open shoes and a tshirt and onother one very descently dressed with a newspaper. what they do is to wait for a matatu and mostly 14-seater through thikaroad to githurai 44 and kahawa west, kenyatta and langata routes. the one with a gazeti will raise the hand and when the mat stops to pick him, the other 4 will join and in case the mat does not enough seats to accomodate them eventhe first one will not enter, they wait for another one. when they are inside, they start something silly like dropping coins and then they request you to help then pick up the coins, if you kind hearted like me, you are not lucky at all coz they will steal your wallet and phone before you collect that coin. if they dont succeed in the coin game, they shout karao karao fungeni belts,in the process of looking for your belt, someone is very "kind" to help you trace it, poor you this guy is massaging you all overto trace your phone. once the mat reaches the destination, one of the dudes will alight first, and create a jam at the door, be careful coz the jam is man-made to help stealing. once they steal the leader who hapopens to have a bag is given the items and leaves immediately so that even if you catch the others you will not have evidence.be careful while you hold your phone in a mat, always mind your own business and stop being too god to strangers. if he drops that coin let the driver come and collect it for him, karao karao funga belt is a trick, bevery careful with who helps you trace it. matatus along thika road all the way from ngara are the notorious. be warned this is happening just next to you.. if you notice anything silly in a mat just shout. the problem with this issue is because some of the drivers and touts are in the scam. the leader of the gang will give some cash to the tout at the entry or ask the drivers first, dere tuingie? be very careful .READ THIS STORY AND SHARE IT WITH YOUR FRIENDS.
