PUPPY RESCUE- Today at approximately 11:30 am, Officers received a call about a puppy that was stranded on a sand barge in the middle of the Wolf River. Officers located the puppy standing on the sand barge west of Highland south of I-40 in approximatley 6 of water. The river was rising and the temperature was dropping. The puppy appeared to be getting weak and was having trouble standing. Officers stayed on the scene and notified Memphis Fire Department Rescue. Firemen wearing wet suits were able to wade out into the river and rescue the puppy. Memphis Animal Shelter also made the scene and took control of the puppy.
