Paci Rhutmos advances to HYPE finals By: Karen M. Cabalona Paci Rhutmos, the official dance troupe of UST-AMV College of Accountancy, proceeds to the finals after getting through the elimination round of HYPE, the 13th Annual Intercollegiate SOCC Street Dance Competition held on January 10 at the Medicine Auditorium. Paci Rhutmos performed a diverse collection of drills ranging from hip-hop exhibitions to robotics and dub step showcasing a dance routine that led them to the finals, along with seven other dance groups. Edfred Reyes, President of Paci Rhutmos, mentioned that their crew remained positive throughout the weeks of rigid practice and preparation for the competition to represent the College with defined and strong movements. “Expect for more. Paci will hit hard,” Reyes said. The defending champion of last year’s competition, the multi-collegiate Juvenile Dance Crew, also worked its way up to the finals, setting more fuel to the already pumped competition. HYPE will have a like and share fest on Facebook from January 11 to 13 to determine the eighth dance crew that will compete with the rest of the Finalists on February 13. This annual dance matchup was organized by the Student Organization Coordinating Council, in cooperation with UST Junior Marketing Association and UST UNICEF.
