Packing and cleaning for moving is fascinating. Especially when your wife is going on 8 months pregnant and you have to do it all by yourself. You find things you thought you lost in Vegas 3 years ago, but were really hiding in a box in the bathroom the whole time. You wonder why you never bothered to open that bag of candy and those bottles of soda you stashed in your closet for a rainy day. The rainy days have come and gone as well as their expiration dates. You sometimes contemplate taking a flamethrower to the whole place and just starting over, its just stuff after all, you can always buy more stuff. You discover that vinegar and baking soda are not just for making volcanoes in science class, but actually form a disturbingly potent hard water and grease destroyer! But most of all in the quiet, sweat drenched, moments where you just want to go die in an ice cream truck, you find yourself just thinking aloud, man its gonna be nice to have a pool this summer. At least thats been my experience.
