Pacquiao bloodies sparring mates nose in LA By Steve Angeles, ABS-CBN North America News Bureau Posted at 03/12/2014 3:48 PM LOS ANGELES, California – It’s back to business for the Pacman. Manny Pacquiao resumed training camp on Tuesday (Wednesday, Manila time) at the newly built private extension of the Wild Card Gym. It’s his first workout in the gym which coach Freddie Roach finished building about eight months ago. “I like it. I love it. Its very private for me to train here and no other boxer except me and my sparring partners, said Pacquiao. Exactly one month from Wednesday, the “Fighting Congressman” will have his rematch against Timothy Bradley. Pacquiao sparred for six rounds with two partners, leaving one partner with a bloody nose after he threw a straight right to his sparring mate’s face. “Ganda naman. Ayos naman ‘yung first day dito sa America. Jet lag pa so adjust pa konti pero I’m getting there and the condition… And speed. So no problem,” said Pacquiao. After some mitt and speed bag work, Pacquiao went on to do some conditioning work with recently rehired strength and conditioning coach Justin Fortune. “Justin Fortune is back to work and he gave me a hard time for a first day,” said Pacquiao. On Wednesday (Thursday in Manila), Pacquiao will not be in the gym as he is scheduled for his routine medical check ups. Roach said earlier in the week that this is one of the best training camp starts the Pacman has had. Despite the hard hits, the coach believes the only true way to know if the Pacmans killer instinct is back is on fight night.
