Pain Blossoming Keeping her awake Tossing Turning Getting back up Unable to lie still Except when exhausted Tired of living this way But suffering in silence Afraid of being called dramatic Exaggerator Drama queen Looking for attention. She reminds herself Pain will pass Just dark time Dim light obscured Focus… Look harder… Maybe it’s right there. She clings to hope That present trials Will be worth it Even if there’s no reason To believe anymore Struggling To remain Calm, Breathing deeply Eyes closed Against headache She longs For some sign That light Has not Abandoned her. Sudden peace Her eyes open Then close And she Finds Rest.
