Pakistan and 9/11. Great Afghanistan Movement (GAM): Pakistan - TopicsExpress

Pakistan and 9/11. Great Afghanistan Movement (GAM): Pakistan has been at the front line of the counter-terrorism campaign of the last ten years . But it has been less clear where the front line is – and who the real foe is, the terrorists or Afghanistan or USA and its allies. Following 9/11, Pakistan’s General Musharraf quickly chose to work alongside the Americans, accepting the reality of a changed environment in Afghanistan. Pakistan’s traditional policy of ‘strategic depth’ in Afghanistan had to be set aside overtly but covertly Pakistan was playing dirty game to destroy Afghanistan and to contain the Indian influence there. Pakistani strategists still see Afghanistan through India-shaped glasses. India remains at the heart of Pakistani strategic foreign policy. The goal now is to prevent Indian ‘hegemony’ in South Asia and to ensure that Pakistani sovereignty can be defended against any perceived Indian threat. The Taliban government from 1996 to 2001 was a tactical success for Pakistan but a strategic failure. For five years India had no access to Afghanistan, lacking diplomatic relations with the Taliban regime. At the same time, however, the Taliban government hosted a range of terrorists who were planning attacks on the United States. Far from strengthening Pakistan’s regional security, the nature of the regime and its support for international terrorists was building the conditions for Pakistan to lose ground, dramatically, in 2001. In 2001 before the coalition forces were entering Afghanistan, General Mahmood , DG ISI told to Mullah Umar in Kanadahar in the presence of the 10 religious scholars from Pakistan , not to hand over Osama bin Laden to America. He told to mullah Umar you defeated USSR with our help and you can also defeat America and its allies, we are with you. And thus Pakistan stared double cross game with USA and its Allies. Pakistan got 20 billions dollars from America to fight against terror but using a portion of it to provide training camps to Taliban and Alqeada to reorganize themselves and attack US and NATO forces in Afghanistan. Pakistan also organized Quetta Shura in Baluchistan for Taliban. When US and NATO forces entered Afghanistan, the Taliban were, at least to begin with, marginalized. But as the insurgency grew, the fighting in Afghanistan inevitably drew on militants based and trained in Pakistan. The Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and Baluchistan became crucial areas from which a regrouping Taliban could organize its insurgency against US, NATO and Afghan forces. The Afghan Taliban presence in Pakistan led to pressure from the Afghan and US governments on the Pakistan military to take action but Pakistan has always been considering these militants as their assets to use them for their proxy wars in Afghanistan , Kashmir and India. Many Americans, including the large number of senior military officers who served in Afghanistan, have been frustrated with what they see as insufficient support from Pakistan. Pakistan has always been depended on US financial, economic and military aid but even then due to the hostile policy of Pakistan toward America, 85% Pakistani are against America. And consider China as an “ All Weather” friend. Since 2001, popular and elite anti-Americanism has become more noticeable in Pakistan. Due to the wrong policy , now Pakistan is considered as the most dangerous country of the world. Pakistan has been crushing the Pukhtuns and the Baloch since 1947 to exploit their resources. The Pukhuns, occupied by Pakistan, dont want to be a part of this dangerous and terrorist state of Pakistan. They want to get rid of Pakistan and annex their motherland AFGHANISTAN. The Baloch wants their independence and Sindhis want their own country Sindho desh. But by Punjab dominated Pakistan Army, Judiciary and establishment ( both army and cival) , Punjab has made the Pukhtuns, Baloch and Sindhis its hostage. We need help from the international community to make Pakistan a part of history, otherwise there will be no peace any where in the world. DEATH FOR OCCUPYING AND TERRORIST STATE OF PAKISTAN. LONG LIVING PEACE LOVING COUNTRY “ GREAT AFGHANISTAN”.
