Palm Beach Kennel Club racing dog goes missing The dog is wearing a muzzle, so it cant eat Video Photo advertisement alt alt alt alt By: Evan Axelbank, WPTV WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The search is on for a racing dog that went missing in suburban West Palm Beach. The Greyhound disappeared two days ago and the Palm Beach Kennel Club is desperate to find it before its too late. Theresa Hume, the Kennel Clubs marketing manager says it was a perfect storm for a dog to get away. He scaled the fence, she said. On Sunday at their off-site kennel near Benoist Farms road, a Greyhound leapt a fence then ran through a gate that was open for a truck delivery. It hasnt come back. Hes probably hiding somewhere, hes probably scared, said Hume. And maybe in danger. The dog is wearing a muzzle, so it cant eat, and may be roaming the area looking for shelter. Its heartbreaking, said Hume. The seventy pound, seventeen-month-old Greyhound could be unaware of his surroundings. We are hoping not anywhere near traffic, said Hume. The Kennel Club and animal rescue groups are combing the area and putting up signs. The dog is so young it hasnt even raced yet. But theyre certainly hoping someone spots it, so that one day, it can grace their track soon. Hes somewhere just hiding out, said Hume. Hes probably scared. The best thing to do if you see him is to just get a hold of us. They take heart in that its unusual for a Greyhound to go missing, so anyone who sees it will know who it belongs to. If you spot the dog, you can call them at 561-683-2222. Read more: abcactionnews/dpp/news/Copy_of_palm-beach-kennel-club-racing-dog-goes-missing1385546332167#ixzz2lqy4ujh7
