Panel for opening, upgradation of new health institutions free from politics SRINAGAR, JUNE 11: House Committee “constituted to look into the alleged discrimination in sanctioning and opening of health institutions in the State” of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly head by MLA Dr. Mustafa Kamal recommended that opening or upgradation of new health institutions should be done on equitable basis.. The Committee Members Mr. Rafi Ahmad Mir, Mr. Niza- mu-Din Bhat, Mr. Javid Ahmad Dar, Engineer Abdul Rashid and Mr. Nasir Aslam Wani attended the meeting and gave their valuable suggestions with regard to opening and upgradation of new health institutions in the State. Threadbare discussion was held on various issues, including steps taken to implement the recommendations of the House Committee constituted in the year 2011, which was tabled on the house on 4th April 2012, criteria , norms and guidelines adopted for the purpose of creation, upgradation and establishing of Health institutions and the reasons, constraints for delay in implementing the recommendations of the previous House Committee. While discussing the issue of Labour Room and Ramp facilities in Lal Ded hospital, the committee directed the Assembly Secretariat to call Architect along with Medical Superintendent or the representative of the Lal Ded hospital to explain their position in this pursuit. Commissioner Secretary, Health and Medical Education, Mr. Gazanffar Hussain, Director Health Services, Kashmir, Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman, Director Health services, Jammu, Dr. B.S. Pathania, MD, NRHM, Dr. Yashpaul Sharma, Director ISM, Dr. Abdul Kabir Dar and other senior officers of H&ME and Assembly Secretariat attended the meeting.
