Paola Marocchi: I watched Blackfish a couple of months ago and highly encourage anyone to see this documentary on CNN on October 24th. It tells the story of Tilikum, the whale that was captured from the waters of Iceland at two years old, completely separated from his mother, and sent to a marine park that no longer exists and later to Seaworld. Tilikum has been involved in the death of three humans and, as a result of the last death of his trainer, he is now kept completely isolated without interaction with humans or other whales. This is what we do to sentient, highly intelligent beings just so we can have an hour of entertainment. They are kept in captivity their whole life as if in prison, their crime is having the ability to amuse people with the unnatural tricks they are taught. And for that one hour of amusement they pay with a life of captivity and misery as shown on the documentary. Please watch and please dont support animal abuse.
