Pappy Js Pondering Points: 140910 - Ps 146:1-2....Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my Soul! I will Praise the Lord as long as I live; I will Sing Praises to my God while I have my being.....Here we are mid-week already, I do Praise the Lord Jesus for All His Blessings and Presence I have witnessed already this week - a special Prayer of Thanks goes up for His Grace and Mercy in protecting Mr. Levi McNeely - not to belabor the point, Levi (son of my dear Brother/Sister in Christ - Mike and Sharon McNeely) was in a serious bicycle accident over the weekend. By the Grace of our Lord Jesus, though Levi was injured, he will fully recover. The Lord has His Hand upon Levi and I know the Lord Jesus has a Plan for his life (Jer 29:11-14). Thank You Lord Jesus for Your Amazing Grace. I have been sharing these past two days that the Spirit has been prepping me for not only the present PJP2 that Im writing, BUT also Hes been sharing beforehand what the topic of the morrows entry will be. For example I already know, with tomorrow being the 13th Anniversary of 010911, the Spirit is already rolling around in my noggin on that topic. Yet, that is for tomorrow - today is the one I need to focus on.....have to love ADHD sometimes......SQUIRREL! Ok....sorry....Im back.......Todays POW is a Passage of the Word that says so much to me - Paul, as hes Inspired by the Holy Spirit, writes to the Believers of Philipi (and to us) provides great guidance on how are relationships with each other, as well as our internal attitude, should look like. I especially am struck between the eyes by vs 5 Have this Mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus......then Paul goes on to share a phenomenal description of the Characteristics of Christ that we to can, by the Indwelling of His Holy Spirit, open ourselves to obtain. So very cool. However, the Bottom-Line/Up-Front (BLUF) that really gets my motor running is found in vs 10-11 - .....so that at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow.....every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the Glory of God the Father.....Consider what is in His Name.....simply amazing that the Name of Jesus is so very powerful. You read through Acts, and the Epistles, consider the miraculous activities (healings, turning the world upside down) the Apostles (including Paul) accomplished all by the Name of Jesus. Wow. In my own life I have learned (and am still learning) that simply by saying the Name of Jesus, it is awe-inspiring the sense of Peace that comes from an immediate realization that He is indeed with me, and in fact has NEVER been away from me. If ever I sense He is not near, that is NOT because He has left, BUT that I am the one who has moved.....Thats another thought for another PJP2......Thus, as Paul says in Phil 2:1....So if there is any encouragement in Christ......just the Name of Jesus is a Source of Encouragement and Comfort for us. Thus my prayer for us to day is simply let us be open to reaching out and calling upon the Name of Jesus. Holy Spirit may You once more open our eyes to see, and our ears to hear how and where You move as we call upon the Name of Jesus. As Paul writes in Col 4:18 - Grace be with you. Oh....heres a bonus thought - I had someone ask me how I got the Call Sign DOC PAPPY J....that in and of itself is a longer story......BUT....let me share what this ACRONYM says to me when I see it.....Disciple of Christ; Prayers And Petitions (and all) Praises (to) You (Lord) Jesus = DOC PAPPY J
