Parents, Parents, I hope your Thanksgiving Holiday was relaxing and enjoyable. As we approach the last three days before Christmas Break we have tons of things to keep you up to speed on. --Remember that Jazz B is performing tonight for the Pelham Tree Lighting. They are taking their tuxes/dresses home with them today and will meet back at the civic complex at 5:30. We will NOT come back to the bandroom after the performance, but will unload Tuesday morning. Students will need to bring their uniforms back to the bandroom with them when they come to school on Tuesday. Their performance will start around 6:15 as they play for people to enter the arena and then they will play again during the actual ceremony. --Jazz A will be performing for the Alabama Association of School Boards Convention this Friday. Meet time is 7:00 a.m. in the bandroom and we have to leave by 7:15. Dress will be shirt and tie for the gentlemen and comparable for the ladies. We will take a bus to the Wynfrey. Our performance is roughly 8:30 but we have to wait until the meeting we perform for is over before we can move our equipment. We hope to arrive back at PHS by around 11:00 if all goes as planned. --The entire marching band (including marching 8th graders) will be performing for the Helena Christmas Parade on Saturday. Meet time is 11:45 on Saturday. Parade step off is 1:00 p.m. and we should be back in the bandroom by 1:45 at the latest. More details on this will come during the week as we watch the weather and what impact it might have on the day. --Our parade rehearsal is Thursday after school from 3:15-4:15. If it is raining, then we will have the practice in the bandroom. --There are still 2 Hams and 2 Boston Butts remaining from the Thanksgiving Sale. If you are interested in purchasing one or more of these, please contact Mr. Ward at [email protected]. --The Christmas Concert is Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 7:00 p.m. Meet time for all students is 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium for the mass group rehearsal. --Our Christmas Concert Dinner is also Tuesday night prior to the concert. Dinner is being catered by Majestic Catering. Everyone, students and parents alike, are welcome. Cost is $7.00 per person and includes dinner, drink and dessert. If you plan on attending you will need to make a reservation by either contacting Janine Gardenhour directly at janinegardenhour@gmail or contact me and I will forward it to her. Meals do not have to be paid for until the dinner. The deadline for reservations is Tuesday, so if you have not already made them, make sure you do so today or first thing tomorrow. Parents willing to donate a dessert item for the dinner should also contact Janine.
