Parents especially should read this. I dont think that my mother quite understands the implications of asking me to complete a perfectly simple small job. For example; my mother repeatedly asked me to get the electric heater from the ground floor - this may not seem like that much of a request, but i think its important to let my friends and family know just how much of an effort it is for ME to complete it. Firstly, i must let the person that i have been texting instantaneously for the past hour that i must do something for my mother. Then i need to stand up and ask my mother exactly where this heater is (this is all increasing the depletion of my energy). I must then walk all the way down TWO stair cases to retrieve the blasted thing, following this i must transport the object back to my mothers bed room; of course this means carrying the heater back up the two staircases of which i had just came. After this i must set everything up for my technological ignorant mother, then furthermore, walk back down another set of stairs, where i can FINALLY sit down, and continue to spend my free time, preferably not doing things for my mother. So: parents, hopefully you can see how a small job is perceived/interpreted by your children. Go easy on them, theyre not actually lazy.
