Parents often feel that their child is being treated harshly by their mainstream teacher. As I am still working at a mainstream school until the end of 2014 and see all the kids in JP (music teacher!), I have a grandstand view of the teacher-child interaction. And of course I know what it feels like as I see 20-28 kids every hour. There is a simple truth that emerges for me: if it is not her OWN child the teacher has to put up with, PLUS the fact that she has 25 of these, OBVIOUSLY she cannot love them all with the kind of patience and care a child truly craves. At my school, they all try. My colleagues are wonderful ladies and they work hard to reach all the kids in their class. But...nature has designed for the young of the species to be reared by their OWN mother and/or father.
