Parking violations in Norman are generating an increasing number of citizen complaints, especially on OU home football game days. One of the parking violations that cause special concern is the blocking of sidewalks with vehicles. These violations are a serious matter because of the negative impact they can have on neighborhoods as well as the potential danger they pose to pedestrians, bicyclists, and those with special needs. City Ordinance, Chapter 20, Section 805 (12) clearly states: “No person shall park, stop, or stand a vehicle on a sidewalk.” Upon receiving a complaint at a specific address, Parking Service Officers will respond and work proactively to enforce the ordinance.
