Part 3 (of 3) That OTHER kind of woman is the polar opposite of the فَالصَّالِحَاتُ قَانِتَاتٌ Righteous woman who is obedient to Allah, THEN to her husband... وَاللاَّتِي تَخَافُونَ نُشُوزَهُنَّ & As to those (women) you FEAR an-Nushooz & Ill-Conduct... Meaning the Husband is striving to fulfill all of his duties as ordered by Allah (swt), yet he is not experiencing an Islamic BALANCE within the marriage. On the contrary he experiences from his wife NASHAZA, which is to Rise Over Your Natural Station & Rights. She may not dignify herself with proper Hijab. She may keep messy kafir or messy muslim company. She gossips negatively about her husband instead of complaining to those of KNOWLEDGE. Fraternizing with Non-Mahrim (Non- blood related) males, etc... RANT: This is a common phenomena today as the men are being Feminized & the women Emasculated. This is mostly post chattel-slavery residue that has women saying, I dont need no man. I can raise these kids all by myself. But after a full embrace of Islam you should enjoy a brainwashing of all that Jahilee (ignorant) FILTH as well as the SCARS affiliated. But I digress... An-Nushooz can be committed by a man or woman. But for the purpose of the ayah mentioned, we will limited this discussion to the women. Again Allah says, وَاللاَّتِي تَخَافُونَ نُشُوزَهُنَّ & As to those (women) you fear Disloyalty & Ill-Conduct... فَعِظُوهُنَّ وَاهْجُرُوهُنَّ فِي الْمَضَاجِعِ وَاضْرِبُوهُنَّ 1) WARN THEM (& if they return to righteous conduct, DO NOT ANNOY THEM). 2) SEPARATE THE BEDS. Which can be applied literally or by simply Turning Your Backs. (& if they return to righteous conduct, DO NOT ANNOY THEM). 3) STRIKE THEM... (& if they return to righteous conduct, DO NOT ANNOY THEM). ^^^ This is where it gets Hairy. Some scholars says, Use a feather or a Siwak (tooth stick). I find this a bit impractical WITH ALL DUE RESPECT! A quick peek into the details leaves no room for APOLOGETICS. The Islamic prohibitions regarding STRIKING are: A) Must avoid the FACE. B) Must NOT Bruise. C) Must NOT Break skin. D) Must NOT Break Bones. E) Must NOT Spill Blood. F) Must NOT hurl Insults. You may ask, With all these Restrictions, whats left in regards to STRIKING?... I would say a Slap On The Butt/Hip. It was how Abu Bakr (ra) disciplined Aisha (ra) his daughter, even after her marriage to Muhammad (saw). - Sahih Bukhari 1:7:330 As for Muhammad (saw), Aisha reported: ... He struck me on the chest which caused me pain, and then said: Did you think that Allah and His Apostle would deal unjustly with you?... See SAHIH MUSLIM 4:2127 (Long Hadith) For full & complete details. This in no way justifies spousal abuse as many men (Muslim & Non-Muslims) practice it. I witnessed abuse upon female members of my family as a child. I wish they were only popped on the butt... but of course NONE of these dudes were legitimate legal mates anyhow. This Quranic injunction focuses on straightening the matter in order to avoid divorce. People who dont believe take issue with step 3 simply because they feel it sanctions abuse. This is far from correct. I dont take issue with the kuffar, who DONT EVEN HAVE A CLUE AS TO WHO GOD IS. My issue is with anti-Quran Muslims or over-apologetic Muslims. I would say, Find a religion that fits YOU better & well see who has the last laugh. After which Allah says, فَإِنْ أَطَعْنَكُمْ فَلاَ تَبْغُواْ عَلَيْهِنَّ سَبِيلاً Then if they return to obedience DO NOT SEEK WAYS TO ANNOY THEM إِنَّ اللّهَ كَانَ عَلِيًّا كَبِيرًا For Allah is Most High, great (above you all).
