(Part II) HOW TO LIVE A VICTORIOUS LIFE FOR CHRIST This is a five part series we have written and is meant to be an appetizer to the Word of God. Many of you have turned from your sins and put your faith in Christ at our concerts or elsewhere and our hope is that this will boost or jump start your walk with Christ. Part II STAND IN CHRIST Galatians chapter 5 5 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. At times it may feel as if everyone is sitting down and you are the only one standing. Times like these can be very challenging, uncomfortable, and can often overtake us with fear, but remember that God has given us the power to stand strong and hold to the faith even unto death. Scripture tells us: 2 Timothy chapter 1 7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; 9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, We have a foundation to stand on : Psalm chapter 18 2 The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. The scripture also tells us: Exodus chapter 33 21 And the Lord said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: If we are obedient and stand in Christ Jesus often times it is a front row seat, and we get to see the Glory of God. In Exodus 33 Moses wanted to see Gods glory. The Lord told him no man could see his face and live. The Lord told Him he would pass by and let his back parts be seen but that he would have to stand on a rock in a place by The Lord and he would have to also be in a clift of a rock and that he would also put his hand over Moses until he was passed by and then he would remove his hand and that Moses could get a glimpse of the back of him. Moses was protected from Gods righteousness in this. We also are protected if we stand on the Rock which is Christ Jesus. At the Cross of Calvary is Gods place, the rock on which we stand is the faith that Jesus is the Christ and has saved us from our sins. The clift that protects us from Gods awesome righteousness is the Blood of The Lamb of God, who is Christ Jesus . This place and Rock on which we stand is the most sound, unshakeable foundation that has ever been and will ever be. Literally this foundation was before the foundation of the World. Scripture confirms: Ephesians chapter 1 4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: In these scriptures we learn that God is the protector of our soul and that we are safe in Christ Jesus. In knowing that our soul is safe in the hand of God we should not fear the world and what it can do to our bodies but rather stand for Christ even in the face of persecution knowing that The Lord Is the keeper of our souls. Scripture tells us: Psalm chapter 121 5 The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. 6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. 7 The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. More scripture on the safe keeping of our souls: 1 Peter chapter 2 25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls. We will face persecution if we stand for Christ but remember that God has promised to give us the strength to be champions for his purpose and in this we will be blessed by God. The scriptures tell us: Romans 8 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written, for thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. We will suffer if we stand in Christ. 2 Timothy chapter 3 12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. But our God promises that he will deliver us from evil: Jeremiah chapter 1 19 And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith The Lord, to deliver thee. The blessings of God far out weigh the persecution. Psalm chapter 1 1 blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. Do not ever forget that you will never stand alone in Christ Jesus! He will hold you upright when you think you can not stand anymore. We arent perfect but God is perfect for us. Gods gift of Grace far out weighs our imperfections. Satan doesnt stand a chance! 2 Corinthians chapter 12 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Even when we dont understand we can believe by the power of God. 1 Corinthians chapter 2 5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. Gods power is unfailing. It will never be shut off. We will stand in Christ Jesus for all eternity! Much Love Tank
