Part-Time Receptionist/Office Clerk The National Women’s Law Center is seeking a part-time receptionist with strong customer service skills to work three hours in the afternoon, Monday through Friday, 1:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Organization For over 40 years, the National Womens Law Center has led the way in expanding the possibilities for women and their families. The Center uses the law in all its forms: getting new laws on the books; litigating ground-breaking lawsuits all the way to the Supreme Court; and educating the public about how to make the law and public policies work for women and their families. The Centers experienced staff takes on the issues that cut to the core of womens and girls lives in education, employment, health and reproductive rights, and family economic security, with special priority given to the needs of low-income women and their families. Position Responsibilities Operate telephone switchboard to answer, screen, or forward calls, provide information, take messages, and schedule appointments. Provide a warm and personable greeting to persons entering NWLC, determine nature and purpose of visit, and direct or escort them to specific destinations. Use computer, mail, or facsimile machine to transmit information or documents to staff and customers. Perform administrative support tasks, such as preparing memos, correspondence; excel spreadsheets, or other documents. File and maintain records. Provide information about NWLC, such as location of departments or offices, and employees within the organization. Collect, sort, distribute, and prepare mail, messages, and courier deliveries. Order, stock, and organize office supplies. Prepare offices and workstations in anticipation of new employees, Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Ideal candidate must have a high school diploma, at least one year of related experience in a busy office environment, excellent telephone etiquette and strong customer service orientation. Candidate should be proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, typing and data entry. Candidate must have attention to detail, organization, and the ability to work independently and well under pressure. Ability to work additional hours as needed a plus.
