Party of the rich: In Congress, its the Democrats--- the most misleading, distortive headline Ive seen in awhile. Even Drudge would be jealous. Lets see if we can guess what party of the rich, means within the piece. More Democratic than Republican MEMBERS of Congress are rich? Nope. Democrats are actually more likely to take money from rich contributors? Nope. Democratic members of Congress are, surprisingly, demonstrably doing the bidding on behalf of the rich at the expense of the poor, in spite of things like Mitt Romneys 47% remark and Republicans cutting food stamps and unemployment? Nope. Its this: ...in Congress, the wealthiest among us are more likely to be represented by a Democrat than a Republican. Of the 10 richest House districts, only two have Republican congressmen. Democrats claim the top six, sprinkled along the East and West coasts.... Its as dopey a headline as it would have been had it said, Party of the poor: In Congress, its the Democrats for exactly the opposite reason.... that the poorest districts are more frequently represented by Democrats, too.
