Pasco County Fire Rescue responded to a residential structure fire on Monday in the 3100 block of Gianna Way in Land O’ Lakes. The fire was reported around 4 p.m. to the Emergency Communications Center via 911. The first arriving crews found heavy smoke transmitting from the roof of the two story, single family home. An initial search of the structure revealed that it appeared to be abandoned. Firefighters encountered a fire on the second floor in the area of a bathroom that eventually broke through the roof. Twenty-two firefighters from six different stations were on the scene to mitigate the fire. No injuries were reported. The fire remains under investigation at this time as investigators interview witnesses who reported seeing suspicious activity at the home in recent days.
