Passing on an opportunity: The Elephants In the Living Room will be offering an educational forum on Friday, December 6, 2013 at 1:00 PM, at St. Blase, 12151 Fifteen Mile Road, Sterling Heights, MI. The featured speaker will be Dr. Richard Gaillardetz, chair of Catholic Systemic Theology at Boston College and current president of the Catholic Theological Society of America. The title of Dr. Gaillardetz’s talk will be: Francis: Pope of the Council. Richard Gaillardetz is an American theologian specializing in questions relating to Catholic ecclesiology (theology of church) and the structures of authority in the Roman Catholic Church. Every day we read in the media about possible changes in the Vatican, how the Church might operate in the near and long-term future. Dr. Gaillardetz is qualified to help us understand the happenings in Rome and in the hierarchy base on his knowledge of the relationship of Pope Francis as the Pope of the Council and a visionary to continue in the footsteps of Pope John XXIII.
