Pastor Biodun Lawal Mid-week Service 17/09/2014 THEME: THE DOUBLE MINDED MIND James 1:5-10: ] 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all [men] liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8 A double minded man [is] unstable in all his ways. 9 Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted: 10 But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away. James 4:8: 8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse [your] hands, [ye] sinners; and purify [your] hearts, [ye] double minded. * A double minded mans is not under his control but he is control by the wind. Hebrew word for double minded is two souls Unstable means: unfinsh, incomplete, inconsistent, out of order. * He is double minded because he is unstable. Before it happens on the outside it has already on the inside. Why cos there is a lot of inconsistency inside. * The moment you have a double mind anything, this person will become unstable in all that he does. Mark 4:22-24: 22 For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad. 23 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. 24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. Jesus said take heed what you hear. *What are you hearing? When start listening the problems of people around you these problems begins to stay with you. * You ve to disconnect yourself from the problems of others by sanctifying yourself * Every unfinsh business or thinking divide your attention or mind. * Dont listen to people who will produce unfinsh results. * Once your mind is divided you cannot receive anything from the Lord. * Your mind is the door to your spirit. Your mind is the brain of your spirit. Romans 12:1-2: 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. *Let the word of God be the foundation of all that you do. Isaiah 26:3: 3 Thou wilt keep [him] in perfect peace, [whose] mind [is] stayed [on thee]: because he trusteth in thee. * Peace, prosperity, health is a place and anybody can choose to live there; therefore I dwell in the place called prosperity, called health, called peace. * If your hear any negative or bad report, divide your attention and that issue will not stay with you. * Learn to stay quite in times of trials and let your gaze be on the Lord by staying in the word. 1 Corinthians 2:12-16: 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which mans wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. 16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. Confession: I ve the mind of Christ. I dont have a divided mind. Your spirit needs your mind to function. God needs the attention of your mind. Philippians 4:8: 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things. Think greek: to account, deposite, input. * Have the mind of Christ about yourself and others.
