Pastor Shane. How It Works. Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Go south to the road—the desert road—that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” So he started out, and on his way he met an Ethiopian eunuch, an important official in charge of all the treasury of the Kandake (which means “queen of the Ethiopians”). This man had gone to Jerusalem to worship, and on his way home was sitting in his chariot reading the Book of Isaiah the prophet. The Spirit told Philip, “Go to that chariot and stay near it.” Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. “Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip asked. “How can I,” he said, “unless someone explains it to me?” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. This is the passage of Scripture the eunuch was reading: “He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he did not open his mouth. In his humiliation he was deprived of justice. Who can speak of his descendants? For his life was taken from the earth.” The eunuch asked Philip, “Tell me, please, who is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else?” Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus. As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, “Look, here is water. What can stand in the way of my being baptized? ” And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him. When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away, and the eunuch did not see him again, but went on his way rejoicing. Philip, however, appeared at Azotus and traveled about, preaching the gospel in all the towns until he reached Caesarea. (Acts 8:26-36, 38-40 NIV). God has a plan, we need to be led by the spirit and we need to be bold to go forth and apply the formula that God has. The more the enemy fights Gods plan, the stronger the gospel and His plan goes forth because greater is His plan than the enemys plan. Gods plan superseded the enemys plan. Gods plans will not lead you in circles. He will guide you and lead you. Even things that look like trouble are pushing you right into the plan God has for you. God will make a way where there seems to be no way. As long as you are following the Holy Spirit you will NOT be defeated. He will show you how to overcome. When we follow God we see the glory of God. In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, (Ephesians 1:11 NIV). And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28 NIV). We need to be led by the Spirit. We can walk by faith and not by sight when we realize that He has a plan for us. When God moves you its always right to be led by the spirit and obey God. God has a plan corporately but also individually. The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand. (Psalm 37:23-24 NIV). For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. (Romans 8:14 NIV). I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. (Psalm 32:8 NIV). The wicked flee though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion. (Proverbs 28:1 NIV). God leads me to the place of provision. Others may be in famine, but He leads us to provision. Follow the One that is triumphant and victorious. God deals with increase and not decrease. Your best is yet to come. We cant be reluctant to follow. We need to be willing to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. Are you bold enough to follow the plan of God for your life? Are you willing to follow Him? Gods plan is stronger than the enemys plan to try to destroy me. Be bold and trust God as He leads. When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. (Acts 4:13 NIV). Thank You, Lord for a greater plan. Thank You, for your plan for my life. I will follow You and be obedient to your voice. When the smoke and the dust settles we will be exactly at the right place at the right time. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. (Psalm 20:7 NIV). Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: (Psalm 37:5 NIV). He will bring it to pass!
