Patient Confidentiality !! Patient confidentiality has come to my attention and I will be addressing this issue in the new year but I just want to remind my colleagues in the health profession to beware of our duty of care to patients especially with regard to confidentiality. Health status of innocent people is being discussed openly without their consent. Any health professional from health care assistants to doctors who join this bandwagon will have no one to blame when they lose their jobs or get struck off by their registration boards. We must not bring the health profession into disrepute and must make sure that patients can trust us with their secrets and intimate stories about their lives . Also warning to the public please lets stop that behaviour as you may be taken to court or be sued. Ignorance is no defence so forewarned is forearmed!!
