Patrick Johnson Was Blocked for posting on Future Halfmoon Facebook Page: Future Halfmoon – as best described a Babbling Rhetoric Dear “Anonymous” Future Halfmoon – Quote – “They hide behind “anonymous” social postings and Subjective Opinionated Comments of others actions.” I would like to respond to the comments that your insinuation of “My Education” may be philistinism to your own. As it is a subjective statement to assume ones intelligence over another individual. Future Halfmoon - “I dont believe you educated yourself enough to make those rude comments. Since we are on the subject of rudeness, continued rude behavior will get you banned. You may take this as a warning.” Now, I would assume that this statement should put “ALL” Future Halfmoon Members on notice. If you attempt to express an opinion or inquire to a belief not shared by this group. You should be warned that the punishment of being labeled rude or a subversive “Could” get you banned from posting to this site. Personally, I would accept the privilege of being banned with “Honor”. Future Halfmoon - “We are a mix of Independents, Democrats, Republicans and Conservatives.” To this statement I personally would welcome all discussions that differ from my own. In the course of replying to these posts ”on your own turf” lends to the controlled and deliberate responses given. If your group is truly has a mix of political parties. What better place for these members to read and absorb what their group stands for? Unless this group has only one opinion and it will not be challenged. Future Halfmoon – “We brought ideas and pushed for better planning. The town never followed their own comprehensive plan and sold the town to developers this is why we have no town center” The Town Center, could you specifically state where this geographic location was originally proposed and supposed to occur? I personally have “No Recollection” of this ever being brought to the Town Board or Planning Board. Excuse my ignorance. I assume you are referring to Rt 9 and Rt 236 as the “Town Center”. To the best of my knowledge these were older developed properties and Future Halfmoon wasn’t even a thought then. Future Halfmoon – “We stopped a 165 unit apartment complex from being built in a residential zone, which is now single family homes. We stopped apartments and high density homes from being built in other areas. We have seen positive changes since we began. There is a lot more work to be done to help shape the future of Halfmoon and wrestle control of away from the developers and back where it belongs to the residents who live and raise their families here. You should support us.” To this, again I would assume that the original builder’s proposal was “asking for the world”. Through the “Due Diligence” of the Planning and Town Board the project was scaled back to a reasonable and profitable project for both parties. Future Halfmoon (Specifically, Ms. Stephenson and Mr. Christopher) are taking credit for this achievement? This is where I should “Support Us”? Future Halfmoon – “One serious situation that is developing is a proposed asphalt plant next to a residential subdivision. Would you want to live next to that? Toxic fumes are expelled from the plant (in acceptable levels....hmmmmm) What do you thin will happen to their property value?” This is a “No Brainer” My response below as stated in my first post: Quote – “. My own personal recollection of the Democratic Party run for office in the Town of Halfmoon was fueled by a proposed Waste Management Burn Plant. The plant had little support within the Town but the Democratic Party used that issue to forward their cause for control. Let it be known, the Town officials had no control on what is presented to it for economic growth..” Future Halfmoon – “If you dont know what a PDD stands for, its a planned development district. A PDD is a tool developers use to get around current zoning laws- this is why Halfmoon is chopped up- poor planning. The developer usually gives a public benefit sometimes extending water lines- it usually needs to be extended so it would have been done anyway- road improvements - again would needed to be done anyway or a gazebo. There are numerous public benefits that have not been fulfilled and the town has been working to find these promises for several months. Why so long? Because there is no list, nobody has been held accountable!! I feel we are changing that now” There are a couple of issues here. Does your organization believe that PDD’s (If you dont know what a PDD stands for, It’s a planned development district) is not a Beneficial tool to promote growth within the Town? Does the Future Halfmoon organization have a better way of proposing large complex projects that meets the needs of the Town and more importantly Ms. Stephenson and Mr. Christopher idea of growth within the Town of Halfmoon. Please describe this list “of numerous public benefits that have not been fulfilled” Is Future Halfmoon accusing someone of interfering with proposed and publically accepted benefits from not being completed? I would assume the Future Halfmoon representatives would approach and ask Brendan Lyons of the Times Union for an investigative report on this issue. Finally …. Future Halfmoon – “The next largest party is the democratic party. One does not need to be a rocket scientist to figure this out. We spoke at numerous town hall meetings, were you there?” I was present at the debate that included Ms. Stephenson and Mr. Christopher. My recollection of that debate was, 1st. Mr. Christopher was asked if he had just decided to register to vote so to participate in his “First Town of Halfmoon Election”. His response was “Yes” Mr. Christopher was later questioned on the duties of the Tax Collector and how he would streamline her workday? Mr. Christopher had a difficult time articulating the duties of the Tax Collector. He later resigned to an offer to sit in the Tax Collector office and observe their daily duties. Ms. Stephenson was questioned by a Town Resident about a water issue that required a mile and half connection that didn’t exist. She responded that she would do her best to see that the issue was dealt with quickly. Never once did she remark on the requirements needed to complete what was to be an expensive request with minimal benefit to the Town. Ms. Stephenson was also on record that due to the financial situation with the Town’s finances, layoffs of Town Employee’s was considered an option she might exercise. During the course of the debate Ms. Stephenson deflected questions by opting to investigate further and discuss her position on the issue later. Once Again - Dear “Anonymous” Future Halfmoon – Could you now respond to “My” questions and Requests: 1) To that thought Mr. Christopher just decided within the last year or so to actually register and vote in the election of Town officials. This concept that he was truly concerned about direction of the Town was prompted by the prospect of running for political office 2) Ms. Stevenson has herself been given the public pulpit to express her ideas and changes. To my recollection she has only publically commented on the “ACTIONS” of the others and will only investigate or comment on her position publicly later. I would like to challenge the Representatives of Future Halfmoon to post and commit to “ONE” obvious beneficial change for the Town of Halfmoon. Other, than “ELECT ME “. This obvious and committed stated change should be publically posted and supported within their social media postings. The suggestion should not reference prior actions of others and fall under direct control of Town Officials. I personally realize that this “Bold Step” that would clearly place this organization on a platform to be judge as their representatives have judged people and issues in the past. Please accept my challenge. Quote from a Presidential Democratic Predecessor : Harry S. Truman - Thirty-Third President of the United States (1945–1953) Some of my best friends never agree with me politically. To a group of four congress freshmen on 2 July 1947. Thank You ..
