Patrons will often come up to me with a question or two, presumably under the impression that Im a Legitimate Librarian who went to school for years and years in order to understand all there is to understand about the old Dewey Decimal system. Im just a page, I tell them, but if youre looking for graphic novels, interview tools, and recipe books, I know where those are. Or if youre feeling particularly paranoid, check the single digits ... thats where the conspiracy theory books are. Thats about all I can offer, though. Today one of the library patrons came up to me, and I thought it was going to be another question, something ridiculous, such as why in the world are you interspersing the nonfiction DVDs in with the nonfiction books - who even came up with that? * but instead she just wanted to give me a gift card. I dont even know her name, but she regularly tutors students in the library, so I see her all the time. In any case, it was very sweet of her :) *Its true, we are interspersing nonfiction DVDs in with the nonfiction books. Im not sure why we are doing this. #LongStatusUpdate
