Paul Nkata, the head Coach of Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Football Club, says his team is in Sudan to win the 2013 Cecafa Kagame Club Championship trophy. The regional tournament kicks off on Tuesday with URA FC facing home side El Hilal Kadugli in South Kordofan State. Nkata, who flies to Sudan on Tuesday to join the rest of the team, says that although his boys did not prepare well enough, they are hungry to win the trophy. The team finished second in the just ended FUFA Super League and Nkata says most of his players are still in good shape. Cranes midfielder Saidi Kyeyune and Augustine Nsumba are expected to lead the team. URA also represented Uganda in the CAF Champions League and fell out in the first round. In a related development, Nicholas Musonye, the Council of East and Central Africa Football Association (Cecafa) Secretary General told Uganda Radio Network on phone from Sudan that the tournament is set to kick off without any security issues. Musonye said that some countries that had pulled out their teams were desperate to return to the fold. He insisted that the event was taken to South Kordofan and North Darfur states in good faith and rubbished officials who influenced their teams not to take part. The teams that will take part include; El Merreikh El Fasher Al Hilal Kadugli and Al Ahly Shandy from Sudan; APR and Rayon Sport from Rwanda; URA and Express from Uganda and Vital’O from Burundi. Others are Elman from Somalia; Ports from Djibouti; and Electric Sport from Chad.
