Pavlovs rabid dog: ring bell, receive drool. breitbart/Big-Government/2014/10/06/Ted-Cruz-to-Introduce-Constitutional-Amendment-Defending-Traditional-Marriage Sen Ted Cruz (RWNJ-TX) announced via Brietbart that he will be introducing legislation for an amendment that would change the Constitution to prevent the federal government from overturning state marriage laws. Cruz accused the Supreme Court of judicial activism at its worst. He said the Supreme Court is abdicating its duty to uphold the Constitution. And by uphold the Constitution..., Cruz means ... for some people. But not the people I dont like. Cruz went on to say the fact that the Supreme Court Justices, without providing any explanation whatsoever, have permitted lower courts to strike down so many state marriage laws is astonishing. Two things come to mind, well three if you include the drool: a) Seriously? A Constitutional Amendment? Really? I mean, really? An Amendment, to the Constitution, you say? To keep gay people from getting married. Just to be considered, an Amendment requires a two-thirds majority vote in BOTH the House of Representatives and the Senate OR a constitutional convention called for by two-thirds of the State legislatures. None, not one, of the current 27 amendments to the Constitution have been proposed by constitutional convention. Ever. So youd have to get TWO THIRDS IN BOTH HOUSES TO AGREE ON SOMETHING. Republicans, if you recall, led by Ted Cruz, cant even agree on shit they agree on. But this? And theyre going to get Democrats to go along. Riiiiight. And then, if you actually get an Amendment approved by Congress or (heh heh) a constitutional convention, you have to get a yes vote from 38 out of 50 state legislatures for ratification. 38 out of 50. Best of luck, Ted. Dont forget your helm and sword, you dont want to go tilting at the windmills without your armor, you crazy little jackass. And b) Astonishing. Yes, thats the word. I bet. I just bet Ted Cruz is astonished. These haters, they couldnt win at the polls, they couldnt win in the court, the tide of history is against them at every turn - and if I were to judge the situation as they themselves have defined it, Id have to say the evidence is that their own God doesnt agree with them either, because hello. But like Pavlovs drooling dog, Cruz and his ilk are nothing if not creatures of mindless reflex. Even though they can NOT win, they just cant change course - their fanatical intolerant hate is all that they have.
