Payroll Accountant JOB PURPOSE: To perform all kinds of accounting transactions related to the Payroll operations of the Company, duly maintaining proper records related to payroll, and to support the Team Leader for the timely disbursement of payroll to all groups of employees & resolve payroll related queries. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: -Process all kinds of payroll related transactions of all employees of the Company, including the monthly salaries & benefits and other periodic benefits such as Leave pay, Housing Allowance, bonus, Traveling Allowance, End of Service Benefits etc. duly ensuring accuracy of all such transactions -Maintain the employee payroll register & related accounting records in respect of all kinds of ‘salary & benefits’ listed above -Ensure timely completion of all calculations & preparations related to monthly payrolls for the timely disbursement of monthly payroll -Make sure that all additions / deletions & other changes to employee Payroll details are duly updated in the relevant records in a timely manner -Ensure compliance with Company rules related to all advances & loans to employees, leave salaries, leave without pay, traveling allowance etc & also ensure that various recoveries & deductions are made strictly in line with relevant procedures -Ensure timely handling of the Employee Saving Plans, GOSI related contributions, and submission of related reports to the concerned govt. departments -Prepare Department-wise payroll reports, containing suitable payroll statistics & monthly changes in payroll, for submission to Department heads for their information & confirmation of changes -Prepare consolidated reports on payroll details for submission to Senior Management including budgeted & actual figures -Identify & report to the Team Leader about changes & enhancements required in the automated payroll system from time to time -On a monthly basis, perform reconciliation of all types of payroll subsidiary accounts with related General Ledgers Skills -Minimum 3- 4 years of working experience in Accounts / Finance Departments in a large organization, having good experience in handling of Payroll Accounting, preferably in a reputed General Insurance Company. -Sound working knowledge about the rules and regulations related to employee payroll, as well as good level of knowledge about accounting standards, methodologies and regulatory requirements. -Sound experience in working in a totally automated environment for business and accounting operations as well as communications.
