Peace The other night we had a rather unpleasant event happen in our neighborhood. My neighbor and I had uninvited visitors in the dead of the night. These guys slowly and quietly creep-ed into our compounds removed the stuff that holds the glass on the window frames…I think its called putty...or something close to that….then then opened the windows but since they knew they could not get in, they had come with long wires to hook anything they could through the window. They managed to hook my I pad which was charging and at my neighbor’s house they got away with his Samsung tab and a digital camera. One of the things that hit me hard was the realization that I had so much peace in me…not just me but my whole family. For sure God had been doing a work in us because His peace was all over and around us. I remember my neighbor saying that it would be hard to get some sleep for a season because of this incident. I could see panic fear and uncertainty all over him. His worry was what if they come back? Jesus said in John 14:27 (NLT) “I am leaving you with a gift- peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. When you have the peace of God then you are not moved by situations and circumstances. When other people are worried and panicking you have a calmness that they cannot comprehend. Like Jesus you can be right in the midst of a storm and sleep though it. Like the three Hebrew boys you can be right in the midst of a fire and not even smell of smoke. Like Daniel you can be in a den full of hungry lions and instead of fear, you make the lions your pillow for the night. Besides the Bible says unless the Lord watches over a city they labor in vain them that watch over it…….He and He alone is our protection and peace Break free from fear and allow the peace of God to dwell in you. It’s a gift, Jesus gave it to us, unwrap it, embrace it, let it dwell in you. Deuteronomy 31:6 (NLT) So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.
