Peaches earned her second NW3 title, placing 5th over-all! We got 3 Pronounced marks from the judges in Exteriors, Containers and Vehicles and great comments for our team work in Interiors. Livermore here I come!!!!!! Goal: NW3 Elite by the end of the year! It was the best trial Peach & I have ever worked, everything came together in each element. I was absolutely confident we passed Exteriors and Containers with 2 hides each, they felt like magical searches--I just new we were done when we were done, and obviously sure(!) in Vehicles with 3 hides as the last element of the day---it elicited my goofy happy dance that made everyone laugh. In Interiors I was not sure if we had left one hide unfound in one of the rooms or not, so that worried me all day. We did Interiors first, which always makes me nervous! Interior 1: small, very cluttered sports equipment room -- 2 min / 1 hide Interior 2: large science room, lots of tables, desks, chairs, sinks, three doors and clutter, definitely off-leash! -- 3 min / 1 hide Interior 3: tennis ball room, a large classroom with maybe 30 or more 4-legged stools, with four tennis balls, one on each stool leg end to protect the floor! Good thing Peach could care less about balls! It looked like a giant bag of tennis balls had been poured out on the floor when you opened the door to start, there were also lots of tables and shelves and a free standing wall and other things to maneuver around, definitely off-leash! -- 3 min / 2 hides Exterior: small, tight and cluttered 4 deep sunken area contained on all sides by high walls and/or roof overhangs, loose brick surface with L shape of gravel along one side, lots of large pots with dirt, some with vegetation and two picnic type tables, had to go down 5 or 6 steps to the start line -- 3 min / 2 hides Containers: 7-8 boxes on right in row tight along the wall from start line and near a door, plus 10-12 bags in two rows set up in a long narrow oval going out at an angle from the boxes into the middle of the room, most of which were identical black nylon computer bags and a few flat bags, about 18 containers overall -- 3 min / 2 hides Vehicles: silver Lexus wagon, blue Nissan XTerra, extra space, white Land Rover L4, white Honda. Start line upwind. -- 4 min / 3 hides 13 Titles out of 26, including 1 Elite! There were some great, really experienced teams running on Sunday--tough competition for element placements. Jana (John Wayne), Penny, Jeff and several others were a hoot to hang-out with pre/post trial..... And Im glad there were a few familiar faces, including Kimberly, to hang out and chat with a bit during the trial, being that we were a thousand miles from home. Also glad that Jean and Gremmie--another Berner, got their 2nd NW3 title too, but on Saturday. Go Berners!!!
