Pedestrians in Hamilton and Tirau may have noticed these new markings at 3 busy pedestrian crossings. We’ve recently installed these “Check before you Step” rubber stickers on SH23 at Dinsdale, SH3 Ohaupo Rd south of the Hospital and on SH1 at the northern end of Tirau to raise awareness and improve safety for foot traffic. Similar signs have been well received in Auckland, and we’ll be looking to roll out more of these next year.
