Pending weather conditions, controlled burns are scheduled for Tuesday, May 6th at Sunderbruch Park and the Spray Park located within Centennial Park. If the opportunity exists, the stream bank at Junge Park may also be burned. The City will not burn if wind presents a hazard or if ground moisture does not permit the burn to occur. Signs will be posted in the areas burns will be conducted. Closeness of some buildings to the burn areas may mean that smoke will be present and may enter buildings despite best efforts to prevent it. If you live or work in these areas and have an allergy to smoke or have asthma, it is recommended that you keep your windows closed during the burn period or leave the area during the burn when possible. The City has Burn Permits and Prescribed Burn Plans in place to conduct these controlled burns.
