People always say to me..youre so lucky that you found what God wants you to do with your life..I kind of look at those people and think well I didnt find it..it was just in the bible..its very apparent that you love the lord with all your heart and love your neighbour as yourself and for myself, I dont want to be starving so I dont want other people in the world to be starving. - Katie Davis What a beautiful young lady..simply amazing giving up her comfortable life in Nashville, Tennessee. Putting her university education and her future on hold. I believe she doesnt think she has put anything on hold because she believes that this is her life. This is what she is meant to do and what she wants to do. When you see videos or read articles about these amazing people, dont you end up feeling the same way as I do? So inspired and so proud of them..believing that theres still a lot of good in humanity despite the daily news of some crazy killer or rapist somewhere in this world..but we still have hope..look at her, look at mother Teresa, look at Angelina Jolie, Martin Luther King or even Oprah and Ellen DeGeneres..so many of these heroes that stand up for human rights and help the poor or the less fortunate..this inspires me to do something and lend a helping hand..I really hope one day, soon enough, I will be able to help the less fortunate and work towards filling up the gap between the first world and the third world country. What makes us more fortunate than them that we could have all this and they have literally nothing? Have you thought about it? What makes us so special that we could live such a comfortable life and they need to suffer from diseases, poor living standards, no shelter and no clothing. On top of that, if that isnt bad enough, suffer from poor infrastructures as well as a corrupt government? A lot of the times I ask myself, what have I done to deserve such a good life and what have they done to not deserve all this? I want to do something. I want to be able to help and I want to give back to society and be thankful for this amazing life I have been given. I hope we can all be thankful of the life we have been given and one day give back to the society in forms of donation, help, educating the less fortunate, cooking for the homeless, or even just an act of kindness per day. Even a simple thank you to a waiter or waitress at the restaurant youre dining at, or picking up a garbage in the middle of the road, all of these count as giving back to the society and being thankful and grateful.
