People and ODOT keep making such a big deal about the wrong thing regarding this 217 flyover. Yes, the recommended speed is 35. But think about it, people are going from 65 MPH, to another area that theyre going 60 MPH, its easy to misjudge the speed, especially with what you see in the video. This is video I took a few weeks ago, as I was traveling on the ramp on my motorcycle. If you look at the ground, starting at the seam that ODOT was blaming for a while, the street surface gets shiny, even though its a dry summer night. The area prior to that, and towards the end of the video, is not shiny. This shiny area is a tar sealant, that is extremely slippery in the rain. I have put my foot down while riding in the rain, and that particular area is super slippery in the wet. As soon as that sealant ends, theres all kinds of grip again.
