People are entitled to religious freedom under the Constitition. Hobby Lobby is a corporation. A corporation is a separate entity from its founders. Thats why they incorporate. So they cannot be sued personally for the corporations liability. The issue is: are we going to extend personhood to corporations. And if so, which stockholders will be able to impose their personal religious beliefs on the corporation? A decision in favor of Hobby Lobby would gave far-reaching implications in the law, more than just birth control. And what if the owners oppose vaccinations, blood transfusions, medical care at all? Come on people, think of the entire picture! Then what about criminal liability? Are we going to be able to put David Green in jail for something his corporation does? Are we going to be able to take his personal home if we sue the company and win?
