People are pinning their hopes for a better economy in Squamish on an LNG plant. I say our future is with companies like Quantum Technology. I read in the Province paper this morning that they have started producing helium in a Squamish factory. To be clear, one installation like Qunatum will not supply the jobs of an LNG plant, especially during construction. What Squamish needs is many smaller installations like Quantum. This will supply well paid jobs in relatively clean industries and insulate us from a downturn in any one sector. The biggest problem economically with the LNG plant is that it is too susceptible to the vagaries of the world economy. Putting all your eggs in one basket (or resource industry) is what got Squamish into the mess it is in now. We need a balanced industrial base not dependent on any one sector. quantum-technology/?page_id=791
