People from all walks of life are trooping to various centers to have their Voter’s Cards replaced as polls day nears. Our staffer James Beluchi visited the Civic Center to verify with how the exercise is progressing and discovered that many people are trooping to have a last chance of having their cards replaced. Speaking after having their cards replaced, some people expressed happiness saying they are now assured of casting their votes to choose a leader of their choice. And those who have had their cards replaced have called on others to do so as the power is in the ballot. ******************* And Kasempa District Electoral Officer Everty Ng’andu has urged people to have their Cards replaced as there shall not be any extension in time. Mr. Ng’andu who is Kasempa District Council Secretary further confirmed that the exercise is progressing well as many people are having their cards replaced. The Electoral Officer encouraged people across the district to go to any replacement center placed around the district to have their voter’s cards replaced before the expiry of time. ******************* Kasempa Member of Parliament Kabinga Pande says no qualified Civil Servant will lose employment when Hakainde Hichilema comes to power. Speaking on a special live phone in programme yesterday, Mr. Pande said Hakainde will work with people who are employed on merit unlike the PF who brought in cadres to take up professional positions. He explained that the UPND leader will not relieve any government worker of their duties unless those who will not be able to perform. Hon Pande was responding to a caller who wanted to know if Mr. Hakainde will fire the civil servants employed by the PF Government once voted in to power. He explained that a lesson has been learnt from the PF who fired qualified people to replace them for cadres. Hon. Pande has since appealed to people in the district and beyond to vote for Hakainde for he is the only man with the vision to lead the country. ************** Meanwhile some PF leaders have accused Kasempa radio of being biased in their reporting. North western Patriotic Front Chairman Fabian Chiposo fumed when he approached our reporter complaining of the biasness. Mr. Chiposo who was visibly annoyed complained that despite using the PF radio license the radio station is not covering them during the campaigns. But Kasempa Community Radio Acting Station Manager Martha M’soka expressed disappointment at the accusation saying the radio station has proved to be neutral in political issues. She clarified that it is only the UPND which has approached the radio to have their programmes covered and are paid for.
