People opposing Modi are essentially are of 2 types : 1 . People who are completely economically illiterate , and have no interest or insight in economic matters , those who do not have understanding - even that of a laymans level - of the importance of fast economic growth in a desperately poor country like India . People who do not at all have an appreciation of how much India has changed for the better since the end of hindu rate of growth and faster growth rates after liberalisation of the Indian economy . 2 . Hardcore socialists who are more concerned with inequality and social justice than wealth creation and economic growth . Good examples include socialist economists like Jayati Ghosh and CP Chandrasekhar , both of whom had severely criticised the market reforms that begun in 1991 and had labelled them a failure in a book they published in 2002 . Of course , the common man on the street would differ completely with the opinions of these Leftist academicians , but then Leftists have always been removed from the ground realities of the world and have no real understanding of human nature .
