People say time heals all wounds but it doesnt. Today would have been my eldest Son Bens 35th Birthday. Ben has been missing since February 14th, 2007 and it hurts just as much today as it did on the first Birthday without him. You see he has only been declared Dead as we had no one to bury, no body to grieve. He has a Mom, a little sister Natalie and little brother Daryl who love and miss him terribly. We now have to live in a surreal situation where every time an unidentified body is found the FBI stops our lives for a moment to match dental records. I wish I could sugar coat this but I cannot. It is real agony and could drive you mad. I choose to remember my boy as the vibrant 17 year old in these photos. Or the night he and his best girl Jennifer rang my doorbell at midnight giddy with excitement and loving life. The person we searched for is a distant 27 year old young man who got mixed up with the wrong sort. Ben had a very good job in Louisville Colorado and lived in a gated community near Boulder. His condo was found abandoned and wiped clean of any fingerprints or DNA with his own car left in his garage. He was last seen alive in gas station blurry surveillance film in a rented red Ford 4 wheel drive vehicle in the Northeast part of Arizona with a young male with long black hair described as a local tribe member of the Reservation near Canyon De Shelly. That is where the FBI found the remains of a burned out rented car he was driving in a gulch where the remains of a murder victim from Las Vegas Nevada were found.
