“People take common stealing as corruption. Someone who steals is a thief, it is not corruption; what we are trying to do is to reduce the options for people to be corrupt, make sure there is no free money to be stolen” Corruption is high but we see corruption in burials, wedding ceremonies, etc. The perception is high, not the incident itself.” -Goodluck Jonathan (Presidential media chart Sunday 29th Sept 2013). I am often surprised at people who express shock each time president Jonathan overreaches himself to establish a new nadir of national embarrassment. It is much credit to the limitless capacity of Jonathan to exceed every apogee in the domain of irrationality, that Nigerians have become desensitized to the presidential silliness he exudes at the slightest opportunity. Nigerians should ordinarily be way past conniptions at the perfidy that is the Jonathan regime. What is needed is a sustained anger that leads to the rejection of all this regime stands for at the next elections, dialogue or no dialogue. Under Jonathan, public service irresponsibility has assumed such ignoble status that makes routine extenuation of the impact and import of corruption a norm by his administration while continuing to chant the mantra of anti corruption war. Imagine this; People take common stealing as corruption. Someone who steals is a thief, it is not corruption...the perception is high, not the incident itself. Unfortunately Jonathans scale of index does not go far enough to indicate which is worse; common stealing or corruption or better still which is to be tolerated or otherwise. As is to be expected, the mindless looting with impunity by the Aviation minister, the latest in so many under Jonathans watch has been moved to the theater of silly rationalizations. 225 million paid for 2 armoured BMWs, none of which has even been sighted anywhere in the pool of the NCAA or the ministry. I believe one of the core terms of reference of the 3 man committee set up by Jonathan to probe the current #Oduahgate must be to determine what scale of public service irresponsibility to rate Princess Stella Oduah according to the Jonathan doctrine. You will do well to kindly indicate below in your opinion whether this matter of urgent public importance is; a. common stealing b. corruption
